Scope Overview

Sponsoring a sporting event at a local school to build awareness and exposure of a new sport equipment store.

Business Case

· The first few years of opening a store should be focused on building awareness in the local market.

· Sporting events are directly related to the core business of the shop.

· Parents, the key purchase decision maker, will be at the event and present an opportunity for the shop owner/staff to engage with the market.

· Giving back to the community is also a great way to build positive impression with the public.

· Direct sales at the event would likely be minimal, though future sales would justify the cost of the event.

Milestone Schedule & Criteria

· Next event is one month away.

· Personnel and materials planning to be finalised: day 1.

· Contacting the school: day 2 to 6

· Criteria: school approving project proposal.

· Ordering materials (Giveaways, stand and banners): day 2 to 4

· Criteria: Decide on suppliers and place order.

· Collecting materials: day 7 to 21.

· Event date.

· Check personnel and materials.

· Set up stand and banners.

· Clean-up and finalisation.

Success Criteria

· Event plan accepted and delivered.

· Number of interest and enquiries.

· Relationship with the school.
