Project Title: Virtual Dressing Room (VDR) Mobile Application

Background: Waiting in line to try on clothes at a shopping store can be frustrating at times, or may even discourage customers to buy the clothes. This mobile application will help reduce or avoid long waiting lines in the dressing room to try out clothes. Also the mobile App will help the clothing stores be more profitable.

Purpose: Virtual Dressing Room seeks to provide an accessible mobile companion that displays an accurate as possible image of a shopper with the selected clothing. This mobile application will show customers how they look in a variety of different clothes so it eliminates the changing room hassles. When the major shopping season arrives, shoppers no longer have to spend countless hours at the mall, or while they are at a shopping store in a mall, they do not have to wait in fitting room lines. The Virtual Dressing Room application will allow consumers to preview and quickly purchase their choices.

Description: Virtual Dressing Room (VDR) will be a state of the art, advanced technology mobile application that will read either Quick Response (QR) Codes or Barcodes in clothing stores. VDR will use photos taken by customers to provide accurately depicted fittings. Once the photo has been supplied, customers would then be responsible for inputting body measurements which include, but are not limited to waist size, bust size or chest size, height, and weight. After all measurements have been inputted, VDR will then display a full body picture using measurements submitted and the photo taken along with the proposed clothing.

Objective: The Software Development Team will create a functional mobile application, to be completed within 12 months from the project start date, for a Virtual Dressing Room of clothes on multiple mobile platforms. The application will be marketed to clothing retailers to generate revenue for the company.

1. Create a native functioning iPhone (iOS) mobile application.

2. Create a native functioning Android mobile application.

3. The backend database should allow us to import inventory from a variety of sources and allow mobile client flexibility.

Success Criteria or Expected Benefits: The creation of the mobile application will help grow the company as it will be its first product to market. It will be a source of revenue for the company after its launch. The goal would be to sign one major clothing retailer after development of a successful application. Ideally, we would like to have 5-10% of clothing retailers in the USA implementing the application within 18 months of launch. Another expected benefit from this application is the improvement of fitting rooms. Retailers can save money by having less inventory throw on the dressing room floor. This should free up sales personnel to spend more time directly with customers, and less time folding and stocking inventory.

Funding: This will be an internally funded project, whereas the company expects to see a return on investment. The Software Development team can request additional funding during creation as long as it is documented with sufficient reasoning for cost changes.

Major Deliverables: First, a full set of screen mockups / wireframes will be designed for the Virtual Dressing Room mobile application in order to provide visualization of the functionality that will be developed and implemented into the final product. Other major deliverables must include working prototypes for iOS and Android that have limited options compared to what will be available in the final product. Then, deliver the application for BETA testing on both iOS and Android platforms to a live customer (retailer). Finally, implement the final product by launching it into the Apple App Store and Google Play Markets.

Summary of Deliverables:

1 - Formalized design and drafts of the application done as digital renderings 2 - Prototype application for iOS and Android phones

3 - Refined Beta applications for iOS and Android to be tested.

4 - Revised applications to submit for approval to Apple and Google, and launched into the Apple App Store and Google Play Market.

Acceptance Criteria: The Virtual Dressing Room mobile application will need to comply with iOS development standards in order to receive approval from Apple and successfully deploy to the App Store. Android development standards will need to be followed as well for successful deployment to Google Play. The mobile application will render the photo of customers in their new apparel within 3 seconds after scanning the QR code.

Key Assumptions: In order to ensure the success of Virtual Dressing Room, the Software Development Team should assume the following:

· This project is being internally funded by Corporate Headquarters. However, the project plans must include the costs of renting floor space, purchasing or leasing computers, telephones, printers, and any other asset costs.

· The time required to purchase assets and find a building must be included in schedule estimates.

· The time schedule must include regular status meetings and stakeholder reviews.

· Online, broadband access to compatible vendor database(s), which will provide up-to- date Quick Response codes and inventory information, during development, testing, and through to final delivery phases.

· Time in the project schedule must account for mobile application approval and adoption by the respective mobile platform makers, Apple Inc. (iOS) and Google Inc. (Android).

Constraints: The following factors can impact the success of Virtual Dressing Room:

1. Personnel with skills on the appropriate mobile platform

2. IT resources

3. Vendor specified product delivery dates
