Confession Project
I have a confession.
Sometimes I can not understand some hyperrealistic or contemporary artists work.
For example, last year Maurizio Cattelan used tape and bananas create a piece of art named "Comedian" and put at art Basel Miami Beach for sale. Three customers bought this "Comedian" and the highest price reached $150,000. Actually, he bought the banana for only 30 cents from the market.
Is this work really consider as a piece of art? Is this work really worth that much? Why would people willing use $150,000 to buy a piece of tape and a banana?
Piero Manzoni is an Italian artist, On July 21, 1960, in Milan, he realized one of his another famous performances. Manzoni marked his fingerprints with some hard-boiled eggs and let the audience eat it.
Another Example
Piero Manzoni is an Italian artist, he packed his shit into 90 cans and kept it sealed until it was sold in the future. Each can has an autograph by Piero Manzoni and a unique number. Now the market transaction price is as high as 242,000 US dollars.
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT ? ? ?
