IT xxxxx Project Two Implementation Plan Template
Complete this template by replacing the bracketed text with the relevant information in each section. If there are sections that you believe do not need to be considered in this implementation plan (based on the scenario provided), type in “Does not apply.” Then provide a 1- to 3-sentence rationale as to why that section does not apply for this system.
Implementation plans vary based on industry and organization. This template was intentionally designed to meet the needs of the project and may not contain all of the sections that you may experience at a future employer.

1. Introduction
[The following subsections of the implementation plan provide an overview of the entire implementation process for the software system. This section will help the team understand the purpose and overview of the system.]
1.1 Purpose
[Briefly describe the purpose of this document and its intended audience.]
1.2 System overview
[Provide a brief description of the system that is being implemented to provide more context to the team. For this, you can refer to the system purpose that you completed in your SRS.]
2. Implementation approach and schedule
[In this section, describe which life cycle model you selected for the implementation and why. You can include the graphic/visual of your implementation schedule that you created in MS Project or Microsoft Excel in this section.]
3. Phases
[Expand on the phases you determined within your implementation schedule. Consider: what are the phases in your schedule and why is each phase important in the development process?]
4. Tasks
[Your implementation schedule should have included the tasks that occur in each phase, but use this section to further expand upon all of these tasks. Consider: what are the separate tasks and why are they important in the development process?]
5. Resources
[Your implementation schedule should have included the personnel involved in each task as a resource, but use this section to further expand on the resources involved with the implementation, such as the hardware and software needed, the personnel involved with the project, the proper training needed, and the minimum budget needed to complete the project.]
5.1 Hardware and software
[Insert text.]
5.2 Personnel
[Insert text.]
5.3 Training
[Insert text.]
5.4 Budget
[Insert text.]
6. Durations and estimates
[Your implementation schedule should already include start and finish dates, but use this section to provide the rationale behind your estimates.]
7. Task dependencies
[Determine the task dependencies, especially if that's not clear in your implementation schedule. Consider which tasks need to be completed prior to moving on to another task, and the tasks that need to be completed at the same time, which is known as parallel tasking.]
8. Performance monitoring
[Describe 2 to 3 ways in which you will monitor the performance of the system and the user experience after it has been implemented, such as access times that indicate lag time, help desk complaints and tickets, system downtime, system availability, and database inquiries.]
