PROGESS, RESULTS, AND FINALIZING THE HR PROJECT 2

Successful Project Management

Project management requires that the people in charge possess skills and the experience that is necessary to manage projects. The management of a project determines whether the project will be a success or not. Project management has a predefined means through which the project manager uses to manage the project. For project management to be successful, planning for the project should be the first step taken by the project manager. During project planning, the project manager comes up with the goals and the objectives that the organization seeks to achieve through the project (Gido, Clements& Clements, 2014). The project manager will then be able to define the tasks that will be undertaken during the project. Team building is also essential during the planning phase. Project planning is critical as it helps to save time, finances, and the stress that accompanies the project manager during the project.

The success of the project will also depend on the ability of the project manager to keep track of the project. According to Gido, Clements& Clements, (2014), project monitoring helps to regularly check the project and communication with the team as often as possible. Project monitoring is therefore important as it helps the management to address the issue that arises during the implementation of the project. Keeping track of the project can also be essential in providing direction to the development team and the organization. Keeping track of the progress of the project is, therefore, important to ensure the success of the project.

Implementation of technology during the project can also be used to play an important role in ensuring the success of the project. According to Young (2016), the success of the project depends on the manner through which the management and the clients are involved in the implementation of the project. Project management can, therefore, implement technology to manage the project through the use of project management software, to manage and run the monitoring of the critical components of the project. This might help to ensure that the project is completed on time since the software will be used to monitor the milestone delivery against time. Technology can also be implemented in a project by using technology to communicate with customers. This will help to establish customer relationships that ensure the success of the project as the customers will be involved in the process, making the project to be tailored towards the needs of the customers.

Successful projects are usually time sensitive. According to Young (2016), all successful project managers have been so due to their ability to manage time. Time is essential in all projects. Successful projects can be graded on the amount of time they took to complete since this determines whether the projects were cost-effective or not. Some of the methods used my project managers include the use of delegation of duty, prioritization of tasks, and scheduling in advance. Projects that are not effectively managed tend to consume more time, which may cause the project managers to spend more on paying the employees, which may result in overspending on the project. Successful projects, therefore, are built on effective time management.

Finally, successful projects have seen to it that the employees and the management can celebrate accomplishments. According to Larson & Gray (2017), successful progress during progress management is built of a culture where success where the companies must celebrate after every main milestone of the project. A company that celebrates every milestone of the project can undergo. The celebration of the achievements that the organization has made will make the employees long to the celebrations. This will make the employees to input more effort to see the organization succeed even more for more celebrations. Celebration of the success of the company might even include a dinner out for employees of the organization. This will also be a perfect opportunity for the organization to bond and build the team. A celebration can, therefore, increase team building and team bonding, which increases productivity if the teams.

Strategies to Sustain the Progress of a Project

Project sustainability is one of the aspects that project managers need to incorporate in their project plans. Project sustainability refers to the ability of a business to maintain its business projects. The progress of a project can be sustained through various strategies. One strategy is the active involvement of project stakeholders (Joshi, n.d). Involving stakeholders in working on the projects can win their hearts. The project community members will find it easy to embrace activities because they will be part of the development process and implementation process (Joshi, n.d). This way, stakeholders will do what they can to ensure the project runs to completion.

One other strategy is to regular evaluation. Regular evaluation will provide project managers to identify what the project needs are (Joshi, n.d). Evaluation, however, should be done consistently. Through evaluation, activities that are essential to achieve the desired results are identified. Similarly, those that would interfere with progress are dropped. Therefore, it is only through evaluation that data can be presented about the necessary support, actions, and resources.

Diversification of the project funding base can provide another good strategy. Financial sustainability is an excellent determinant of project success. The donor base should be diversified, and lasting partnerships with them created (Joshi, n.d). This way, donors will be of great support to ensure the project progresses well. More donor opportunities, therefore, should be explored.

Strategies for Addressing and Resolving Risks within the Project

As the project progresses through various stages of its development, it is likely that it may be exposed to risks which would impact its development process as well as its completion. To ensure this does not happen, as a project manager, strategies must be put in place to address and solve any possible risk within the project. From Kerzner, H., & Kerzner, one of the strategies for this can be extensive research (2017). Research can be an effective way of finding solutions to a real risk which occur within the project. This can be done before the project commences and during the project. Another strategy is documentation of any changes made on the project (Kerzner& Kerzner, 2017). Documentation of all change requests can help trace all modifications that were done of the project. Availability of the record gives a project manager to trace the source of errors that might be occurring in the project process. This makes it easy to correct such mistakes that would otherwise cause project failure.

In addition to the above strategies, project leaders can increase the time spent on the project per day. This can be done by increasing the overtime that the team can spend on project work. This strategy can be useful for resolving the potential risk of not completing the project in time (Kerzner& Kerzner, 2017). This will address risks related to poor decision making by following all the essential steps necessary. By so doing, stakeholders will maintain their focus on the project. Of the above strategies, documentation of change requests is the most important as it can help find the origin of a bug in the project.

Actions Managers Can Take as They Begin to Close out The Project

Project close-out is the last activity that occurs after a project is completed. Each project phase activities must be completed for this to happen. One of the actions that can take place is the final project evaluation (Ding, 2016). Final project deliverable evaluation is vital for verifying that the project deliverable meets all stakeholder requirements. This act is one of the administrative closure processes. Another action, in addition to the above, reports compilation. All records of information regarding the completed are collected and stored (Ding, 2016). This can be used as future project guidelines.

Overview of Project Team on the Significance of Information

Each instance of project work is a source of learning for the team involved. One single project work is a source of knowledge that can be used to better future projects (Jugdev, 2012). Documentation of all lessons learned in the project is essential for availability, even in the future. If documented, it can then be found useful by the same or different project teams to improve efficiency (Jugdev, 2012). Project members should share all lessons with other project teams to enhance their efforts.
