Subject: Progress Report
Part 1: The overview of this project has fallen into the categories of recreation and electronics. Our team has hit a speed-bump in the road and are uncertain on what product from what year we should be designing. We have decided while trying to produce a product that is used outdoors with high tech electronics, it was harder than expected. Jordain and Jonathan have agreed they were both interested in vehicles and automobiles while sharing Karoline’s passion for the outdoors. Youesph enjoy’s playing video games and with all this knowledge of each other, a recreational outdoor product idea was born.
Section 2: Prior weeks work (January 31, 2019) - Discussions on window air conditioners and record players. Our group discussed the pros and cons of each retro machine and how each would further benefit our ideas and how to create a new machine. We have taken the main components of these machines which are mostly the motors and brain of the operation. Using these ideas will determine our outcome.
Section 3: Tonight’s Work (February 7, 2019) - During tonight’s class, our team has discussed possibilities of products and creations that can come about. We have decided that we would be creating an item that would be apart of recreation and electronic categories. Our main idea is to have a wheel or even some type of motorized product to enhance current outdoor activities to be more enjoyable. An engine of some sort may work or even wheels attached to certain things like a kayak for easier maneuverability out of water.
Section 4. Next Week’s Homework -
• Jonathan Ma - Research worst motorized vehicles • Jordain Wilson - Research how to compliment these terrible vehicles with new motors • Karoline Petersen - Research how pairing motors and terrible vehicles together will
create a new product • Youesph Alabdulqader - Implement how technology can be added and improved for the
total function of the new product.
Part 5: Complications - Our teams biggest complication thus far is to develop the product and how real world testing will come about. We are on the right track with ideas but not sure how to complete it.
Other - Our team will figure out how to market the new product and bring it to scale. How we will see the product out in the real world and the expected profits for the next 12, 24, & 36 months.
