Online Learning – Teacher Readiness for Online Learning

Online learning is a program that aims to give students and tutors the chance to interact and the students to gather the knowledge that the must attain. The program takes place over the internet and is often referred to as “e-learning.”

Justify the Need for the Evaluation (Why?)

With the onset of the Coronavirus disease, there has been a huge use of online learning to provide education to students. There is the chance that the students may not get the best of education through the online learning platform. This evaluation is to see if the teachers were ready for online teaching when the pandemic started.

Description of the Program (Provide a complete description of the program you plan to evaluate and address the elements of technology used in the program.)

Online learning is a program under the “distance learning” umbrella that includes correspondence courses, telecourses, CD-ROM courses and mobile learning. Online learning specifically uses the internet to provide learning. Online learning requires the availability of internet connection and computer of smartphones.

The program will be used in Alexandria Middle Magnet amongst all the teachers. The total number of teachers are

Online learning program was offered by Rapides Virtual Program. The RVP provided the services under the supervision of the principal and teacher of a specific course was responsible for the course evaluation.

Justification/Need for the Evaluation (In this section, list elements to determine the effectiveness. Include information about training/professional development provided prior to program implementation, ongoing professional development if provided/necessary, types of participants, purpose/intended outcomes of the program, types of data collected, etc.)

Every teacher shall need to analyze and evaluate the delivery of online course they are responsible for. Every teacher shall have to finish a short course on the introduction to online learning and the use of any technology that may be required. A link will be provided for any additional professional development to increase their effectiveness of online teaching.
