Class,

The public health nurse's role is important in identifying vulnerable populations and individuals who may require certain attention related to their safety and well-being. Some examples of vulnerable populations include:

· impoverished population

· refugee population

· immigrant population

· lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender/questioning (LGBTQ) population

· uninsured population

· underinsured population

· imprisoned population

Those who cannot advocate for themselves such as children, mentally and physically impaired should be included in the list as well. What other vulnerable populations should be included in this list?
