(Chosen profession is cyber security)

Each discipline has a professional membership organization or society that guides the actions of its members. As you join the ranks of professionals, you will need places to look for guidance regarding the expected behaviors. Often times there are multiple societies that one can belong to (e.g., ACM and IEEE).

Directions: Research the historical, social, professional, ethical, and legal aspects of your chosen profession. Identify a professional membership organization (not a for-profit business) for your chosen discipline. Find the code of ethics for the organization. Write a 750- to 1,000-word paper addressing the following: • A brief description of the organization/society for your chosen field. • An overview of the historical, social, professional, ethical, and legal aspects of your chosen profession. • An overview of the core values, mission statements, and code of conduct for the organization/society. • At least two ethical principles that you think are the most important for the work you want to do. • An explanation of how the code of ethics relates to the Christian worldview. Many of the codes of ethics were founded on biblical principles; explain this relationship. • A professional-looking timeline that illustrates the progression of your chosen discipline. You must create the timeline from at least two sources and include at least six significant events. The timeline cannot be copied and pasted from an existing source.
