Process or Procedure Essay Revision 3-pages

 

 

Revision Requirements: Part of your grade is based on revising and editing work done on the draft.  Therefore, in order for your essay to be graded, there has to be a draft and a demonstrated revision by the due date.  Utilize the feedback in two or more of the following areas:

1. Instructor feedback on D2L in the assignments folder for "Process Essay Drafts and Revisions" 

   

Revise for these points :

· No outside sources are being used to develop the paper.  Please check your turnitin percentage report before submitting your revisions. You can check your report shortly after you submit the draft.  Since no outside sources, your percentage should be 0% or slightly higher—5% or 6%.  Scores higher than that are suspect to having used outside sources.

· Your introduction is engaging and has a clearly stated thesis as the last sentence that clarifies the process your essay is describing.

· Your paper is organized in steps or phases that are presented chronologically

· The content is geared towards a certain audience, and you have a clear purpose

· There are at least three body paragraphs that have topic and concluding sentences.

· Your essay must have a formal concluding paragraph

 

Editing has been checked in the following areas:

Sentences are complete. Each one is either a simple, compound, or complex sentence.  You are beginning a review of sentence types during week two.  

Checked for sentence run ons (comma splice or fused?)

Checked for sentence fragments

Checked for comma placement

Checked for pronoun usage—either first and second or first and third person voice

Checked for subject-verb agreement and verb tense

Checked for word choice accuracy

Please refer to the handout from the descriptive paragraph for the format requirements for MLA format, and make sure to have checked that assignment to see if you did all the formatting correctly.
