Assembly Project

Activity #1

Directions: Before you begin this activity you should have already completed the following:

1. You and your partner/s should already have an assembly sketch

2. You should know which part of the assembly you are completing

3. A sketch of your part

4. Create a scaled drawing of your part and include:

a. A title block using the attached format

b. Needed views to appropriately document your part (a section view may be needed)

c. Needed Dimensions

d. Appropriate line types

e. Scale of your drawing

5. Create a scaled drawing of the assembly. Clearly mark who is responsible for each part.

Once the above items are completed, you and your partner/s will need to meet to discuss the following:

1. Are each of the individual part drawings correct?

a. Are the parts correct for each partner?

b. Check dimensions

i. Are they accurate

ii. Are all the needed dimensions on the drawing

2. How should each of you layout your part?

3. What is the best way to make the part?

4. What are key features that need to be the most accurate?
