Problem Statement

Mrs. Jones has been working at the Warehouse for almost 11 years and lack of storage has always been a problem. Our Campus has simply outgrown the Warehouse. Back when the Warehouse was first built, only one department had a computer lab and the rest had typewriters. So we only had to advocate for just that building. Since then, every department on this campus has a computer lab now. The problem is the Warehouse needs to be updated to handle the number of things that are being received. Other than lack of storage, transporting the damaged items is also a problem. We have items in there now that are 10 and 20 years old that we can get rid of because of no transportation. My project will provide different ways to help with the storage problem. Whether that’s expanding or just simply reorganizing. It will also provide different ideas on how to easily transport items by adding some kind of movable storage unit.

Renovating the warehouse

I work at a warehouse on campus and it’s my job to deliver items (like a mailman) and pick up old equipment like computers or furniture. ( any item that's under inventory).

Problem one: Can't pick up any equipment because of the lack of space

Problem two: The faculty members can't throw away the items because we can't risk sensitive information getting out

Problem Three : faculty members on campus order a large amount of items that they don't pick up till years later which takes up space.

Problem Four: To Dispose of the equipment we do have in the warehouse, we would have to buy an u-Haul truck once a year and take it to Surplus Warehouse four hour away from the school

And by the time the year rolls around people on campus would need more items picked up. Which have us bag up until it's time to get the u haul truck
