This article is about a study done with high school students and their parents. The purpose was to get an idea as to how well informed they were when it came to higher education, funding, and the resources available to them. Surveys were conducted, and found that a vast majority of parents had not started college funds, which of course is something common today. However when posed with the question of what they would do when the time to fund college tuition came, many of these parents did not have the answers that they should have had; meaning they did not know of many of the funding opportunities that were available to them. On top of the parents not having full information, the children did not either. This study sheds a lot of light on the importance of doing research as to the resources and support available to prospective and current students pursuing higher education.
