Subject Review and Projecting Future

Introduction

This subject introduces the knowledge, tools and techniques of current approaches

needed to manage projects successfully throughout a project life cycle and to the

language used by practitioners in conjunction with the terminology recognised by the

Project Management Institute (PMI).

In this module, you will review the key concepts and components covered so far:

1. Project Management and Project Management Competencies

2. Project Selection Methods and Initiation Processes

3. Project Management Methodologies

4. Project Management Knowledge Areas

One role of the project manager is to lead teams in complex and diverse organisational

settings whilst concurrently communicating with all stakeholders. Understanding

leadership styles and your personal capacity to succeed in a range of project

management situations is vital. What is your leadership style? How will you lead your

team to be more efficient and effective?

This subject forms the foundation of study in Project Management. To enhance

students’ learning, we have included a recommended sequence of study in the Global
