Please discuss the research question and themes you plan to use for your literature review. How did you come up with those themes? How will they help you to understand your research topic? Are those themes related to your community map?

In my literature review I plan to talk about mental health in the U.S. Mental health is extremely important now in todays society than it has ever been. Research questions I plan to ask consist of questions regarding age, race, social status, background status, childhood history and many other topics that all play a role in mental health. The themes consist of mental health institutions for my minors compared to mental institutions for adults as well as the statistics on mental health between the two. These themes and questions will allow me to gain a better understanding of mental health amongst the different age groups and races & help understand the difference on how the mental health of minors compared to adults affects their lifestyle and how the youth may deal with their mental health issues going into adulthood.

What are your personal career goals? Do they relate to your cumulative experience project?

The career goal that I am very captivated with running towards is a Master's of Public Health. I am really looking ahead to operating on extra specialized public health studies and analyzing them. I think that for as a minimum ten years I have wanted to be an epidemiologist. Being active behind the stage has constantly been attractive to me, and I am certainly someone that desires to realize how things work the manner they do. I like to investigate the figures of sickness and I truly like the investigation.  I will be furthering my education with a Master's degree at UTA.  I even have an ardor for figuring out situations early on.  My grandmother is currently in remission from cancer. I am always researching ways to prevent the onset and ways to cure it.  I am virtually hoping that I can interact with the community in a manner that brings a cure to medical services.

My community partner experience, I will be undertaking focuses on the repute of mental health illness with teens. Mental health is a main element within many schools and children of all ages.  Students struggling with depression or other mental illnesses have a harder time feeling motivated, learning, concentrating, taking test (n.d. 2021)  I strongly accept as true with that we can't be at our healthiest if our mental health isn't always being addressed and assiduously looked after.  I truly just want to better understand mental health illness and how it affect individuals.

Mental Health State in the United States

LITERATURE REVIEW INTRODUCTION

Mental health is having a complete psychological, emotional, and social wellbeing. It results in an effect on our thinking, feeling, and actions. Mental health helps determine how one handles a stressful crisis, interpersonal relationships, decision-making, and thinking (Shi et al., 2020). Mental health is an important health aspect from childhood, adolescence all through to adulthood life. The objectives of the study are: To determine the influence of age on United States mental health, to determine the impact of race on the health status of individuals in America, to determine the economic and social status effect on mental status in the States and to determine the effect of childhood exposures to status of mental health in the United States.

Themes Of the Study

Study themes are the ones that express the long-term target and goals of the study. The specific problem that your study seeks to address. The theme for this study is: how does mental health for minors compare to mental health institutions for adults. The study also determines to seek the statistics of individuals having mental health issues in America.

According to WHO, the most common mental illness are depression, suicide, schizophrenia, and other mental disorders like dementia and psychosis. The mental health leading cause of disability is depression. The second leading mental health problems are the suicide cased with the highest prevalence among the young population aged 15-29 years (Rehm & Shield, 2019)

Influence Of Age and Race on Mental Health in The United States

Different body changes that come from aging predispose one to mental health risks such as depression. Risk factors like low folate blood levels may predispose one to mental impairments and dementia. Among the older population, mental disorders account for up to 6.6% of the total population. This population is exposed to different stressors like the significant decline of body functionality. With retirement, they experience significant drop-in socio-economic status resulting in psychological distress among the older population (Wainberg et al., 2017).

These conditions have onset at 14 years, but they go undetected among the young population. Depression is the leading mental disorder then suicide between 15-19 years. This population's different emotional, physical, and social changes predispose them to mental health problems. Factors contributing to stress include violence, sexual identity, media, and future aspirations.

Influence Of Childhood Experiences on Mental Health in the United States

Stressful exposures in childhood result in stressful events during life. Childhood trauma like rape, parental separation, and divorce may also predispose the child to mental health issues. Despite this, not all children with such exposures develop these conditions in future life. Children who cannot express emotions and feelings develop anxiety disorders in their youthful and adult life (Houtepen et al., 2020).

Socioeconomic Status Influence in The United States Mental Health

Most mental health problems are associated with low socioeconomic status. Low socioeconomic status results in inequalities in healthcare, thereby not being able to access mental health care. In addition, these populations are exposed to different stressors resulting in mental health and psychiatric conditions (Houtepen et al., 2020). This study, therefore, seeks to determine the differences in the mental health institutions for minors compared to adults.
