I selected this article because it is peer-reviewed. It also related to the clinical issue because the study carried out was about avoiding inappropriate urinary catheter use and CAUTI. It also explains how patient’s safety would be improved through implementation and vigorous analysis of clinical practice and practice change. Ethical approval and consent to participate was granted. The writer indicated that patients data will be stored on secure network, safeguarded by a password and only accessible to the research team members.

I chose the article because it is scholarly source that provides information related to the clinical issue. It is a peer reviewed article of less than five years. The article articulates on CAUTI reduction program to save lives and reduce harm. Ethics used include proper securement of data. It utilizes patient data using patient care services dashboard, collaborative care, and unit based score card.

I selected this article because contains the researched information connected to the clinical issue. The article is a peer reviewed. The article discusses about prevention of CAUTI. I selected this article because the study was done about the effect of educating health care professionals concerning indwelling urinary tract catheter, how to care for a patient with one, and it stresses on the importance of removing the catheter as soon as possible (Menegueti, Et al., 2019). Phased mixed method approach research design was used in this study. The multi pre-post control intervention was the specific method used. The data was collected by project staff, nurse consultants, and clinical nurse educators from every hospital.

The researched methodology entailed quantitative method that utilized percentiles to get the rate of NSUH AND NSLIJHS ICU SIR. The data collected showed improvement and reduction of NSUH indicating that education of nursing staff on CAUTI prevention essential.

The article provided robust evidence from both qualitative and quantitative research. It will also add to the evidence-based through improving comprehension of interventions to minimize CAUTI.

Re-dosing education for nurses and other clinical staff enhance reduction of CAUTI cases.

The research give additional evidence proper education and training of nurses enhance quality of care for indwelling urinary catheters and how to prevent CAUTIs.

The article is valuable because it showed that HWCs training and implementation of a daily checklist for reviewing the indication of indwelling urinary catheters had a long-term positive impact on reduction of CAUTI rates in the general ICU.
