In collaboration with the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) work towards the provision of good communication services through the federal medical center. A voluntary declaration agreement between the University of Vermont Medical Centre(UVMMC) and the U.S of Health and Human Services(HHS) has been signed where the U.S unit and U.S Attorneys Office for the District of Vermont wants to provide useful and efficient communication for the deaf as well as individuals with hearing disabilities. According to US Department of Health and Human Services (2017), breaches which involved the loss of unencrypted devices containing the patient`s electronic Protected Health Information (PHI) led to the infringement of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Protection vulnerabilities together with threats of unencrypted mobile devices and laptops were faced by children and these breaches resulted in the loss of the devices which contained the health information of the patients. Execution of risk management plans by the children as indicated in the external recommendations became a very big problem since they were not compliant with HIPAA. This is because they had no alternative measures in the workstations and they lacked other removable storage and mobile devices.
After considering different factors such as the duration the students used the unencrypted devices as well as the prior history regarding the security rules and privacy of the children, the OCR reached to a conclusion of not less than 3.2 million dollars (Liu, Musen, and Chou, 2015).
Workplace policies, patient`s privacy as well as good environmental sustainability should be ensured as a way of offering patients with the best services. Another federal plan which should be looked at is the code of conduct.
Privacy is one of the risk analysis strategies which can be put in place as a way of addressing effective and efficient rules and regulations. It gives an answer to who is authorized to access the patient`s personal information, justifies and examines data. On the other hand, confidentiality as a technique provides security of information collected as a result of intimate relationships. It makes sure that information is not disclosed to the third party. Security deals with procedural measures which are applied in preventing individuals who are authorized from accessing the data.
Health and Human Services, as well as other sectors such as administration and management sectors and business enterprises, employ ethical values in running of their activities. This is seen to create a good working environment as well as promoting good relationship and harmony between the parties involved in the working place hence ending conflicts.
