Johnny’s Exemplary Performance at the Arizona Scientific Symposium
Phoenix, AZ- It is all good news for the Phoenix High School at the close of the National Scientific Symposium. The thematic issues of the symposium highlighted concerns about the climate change debate, green economy, clean energy and the electric vehicle buzz. The events culminated with many positive speeches and presentation from various institutions, private entities and specific segment allocated for the state’s students. The primary concern revolved around the issue of climate change by the virtue of the current political frictions and jabs on the evidence and scientific authority to prove systematic changes in climate. This year’s summit however gave us the opportunity to meet young brains with insightful and workable agendas about the interventions suitable to combat climate change. The moment was offered by a Phoenix High School student, Johnny. He delivered a moving speech and presentation on matters climate change from a perspective not expected for common teen. Matters about divisive and highly politicized issues are difficult to decipher for high school students but the event proved on the contrary.
The instructor () commented on Johnny’s improvement throughout the term as well as his passion for environmental aspect of economy and development of safe and habitable conditions for future generation. (The instructor) argued on the critical role played by Johnny in convincing the school fund the project as well as scouting fellow students who advocated for green economy and globalized efforts to fight devastating effects of climate change. “It is important to encourage students to develop and expand knowledge on areas of their interest since by doing so they diversify their thinking beyond classroom work”, said (the instructor). He also added, “students have great potential of contributing to the growth of the community as well as bringing forth fresh ideas about issues that face limitation due to influence of people with old generation experiences”.
The high school will now roll out an annual project aimed at enabling students understand and develop ideological positions on emerging issues in the society. The school will also be facilitated by various interest groups that are advocate for environmental policies notably green technologies and strategies to combat climate change at political level.
