The Presentation Assignment

Below you’ll find explanation and instructions for each component of the presentation. We will be working on the presentation of your proposal during Lessons13-16. The requirements listed below are for the  final draft. The information in the presentation should be the same as the proposal, simply delivered verbally with a slide deck for visual support. 

General Information about Presentations

In the corporate world, you will frequently be asked to present your in-depth ideas quickly for different audiences. The time allotted and detail expected will vary from audience to audience, but one thing will always be consistent: the audience never wants to read your slides.  Slides are only EVER to support your oral presentation of the relevant information. This also means that you should not read the information directly off of your slides (you can, however, write yourself a script!).

Length and Format

The presentation must be 3-5 minutes long. The slide deck should include seven slides with text and visual information to support the information you are discussing, and the slides should follow the structure of the proposal:

1. Title Slide (summary of the proposal)

2. Definition of the Problem/Definition of the Situation

3. Objectives

4. Threats and Weaknesses

5. Needs Assessment

6. Conclusion

7. References
