The professional benefits of emotional intelligence are:

Effective leadership skills

Less workplace conflicts

Improved communication

The above four benefits of EI will help me learn how to deal with customers

EI promote positive social functioning by helping individuals to detect others’ emotion states, adopt others’ perspectives, enhance communication, and regulate behavior. Moreover, Emotional intelligence influence the success with which employees interact with colleagues, the strategies they use to manage conflict and stress, and overall job performance.

Significance of the research

This study shed light on the importance of EI in communication and interaction of marketers and customers. More specifically, the research gives insight into elements of EI which are crucial in buyer-seller interaction.

The influence of EI on quality of customer service translates into financial performance.

This study, therefore, contribute to the researchers available on EI and customer satisfaction resulting in competitive advantage in marketplace.
