INTRODUCTION

This health campaign covers the topic on substance abuse.

Substance abuse leads to adverse health conditions.

Substance abuse affects even those surrounding the victim.

The use of alcohol increases the likelihood of using other drugs. Using drugs with alcohol may lead to adverse health conditions. It leads to physical ailments and increases the chances of even abusing illicit drugs. This may cause severe body injuries and brings about hazardous side effects. The use of alcohol and other illegal drugs brings results also in the people surrounding the victim. This is due to the side effects brought about by the use of drugs, and it puts the lives of many at risk. (Gagnon, Jacob, & Holmes, 2010). The use of drugs should not be taken lightly as it may even bring permanent damage to the victim, making him or her life with the guilt. The combined use of alcohol and drugs lead to a condition known as substance abuse.

Target Audience

TARGET AUDIENCE

Substance abuse mainly affects the young people.

Drug abuse has become a common issue among the youths.

Some use the drugs due to peer pressure

They assume the negativities of drugs.

The use of alcohol and drugs, which is commonly referred to as substance abuse, is a condition that is common among the youths. Young people have engaged so much in activities that, according to them, bring pleasure to them. The abuse of drugs is common among them. Some may abuse these drugs due to peer pressure, and according to others, the use of drugs makes them forget all their troubles and leave them feeling "high," a common term they use. These young people tend to be ignorant about the effects this abuse of drugs brings to them. (Gagnon, Jacob, & Holmes, 2010).Young people have engaged themselves in hazardous activities; some of them are even involved in crimes as they do this under the influence of drugs

Conceptual Framework

The best conceptual framework that can be used should be based on the youths.

The framework should clearly explain the effects of substance abuse.

It should explain the various ways in which drug abuse can be minimized.

The framework should be efficient when being used to reach even those who are in the universities.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

The best conceptual framework that can be used in dealing with drugs should be based on the youth because, as identified earlier, the child is the target audience. In this framework, it should define what substance abuse is. It should also state and explain the adverse effects of alcohol and drug abuse, as described earlier. .( Falk, O’Donnell, Tompson, Gonzalez, Dal Cin, Streche & An, 2016).The framework should also show the various ways through which this drug abuse can be stopped. In this, drug abuse should be prevented through health campaigns like this and talking to students in high schools, universities, and colleges.it should also explain the ways through which addicts can be helped out of the addiction, and this is through guidance and counseling and in cases where the situation is worse, a rehabilitation center may be the best option.

Communication Channel

A campaign is meant to educate people and therefore the message must be delivered.

Mass media can greatly help in ensuring that drug messages reach young people.

It is a perfect channel of communication as it goes hand in hand with the target audience.

The youths spend most of their time in the social media platforms.

. A campaign is meant to educate people, and therefore the messages should reach the target for a drive to be called a success. Mass media can significantly help in ensuring that drug messages reach young people. (Bennett, 2008) .This is a perfect channel of communication in drug campaign because it goes hand on hand with our audience. Youths are people who love using the mass media, and they are always online. Mass media is also efficient as it is full. This is because it has a lot of social platforms in which the youths love using. These platforms can be used in relaying messages to teenagers. However, mass media has some of its disadvantages, and this is because it is the same media that advertises the use of those drugs and informs the youths where drugs can be found.

Message

Persuasive messages are not easy to come up with.

Research shows that some messages can be used. These messages are;

Puzzling messages.

Fear appeals.

The above messages once used help talk to the youths.

MESSAGE

Persuasive messages in health campaigns are not easy to come up with, but research has come up with some words that may help people change their behaviors and at least stop using the drugs to help reduce this drug abuse. These messages have been grouped in various ways. There are puzzling messages, and this is the type of news that encourages people to have discussions on the topics based on drug abuse. This is because they may get more knowledge of the drugs and know all the harmful effects of these drugs. Persuasive messages may help the audience by bringing experiences when reading the content in the campaign. These messages may enable the audience or the target to interpret the signal, and sometimes when one feels as if something is talking to him or her, he or she tends to be more attentive and even want to know more.

Strategy

Strategies need to be outlined to help explain the aims of the campaign.

Strategies outlined help set specific objectives that have to be achieved.

Everyone does something with a certain aim and so is the campaign.

The outlined strategies later help to see if the campaign has achieved the goals.

STRATEGY

Different strategies should be put or outlined as they explain the aims of the campaign. These strategies will help the campaigners to set specific objectives that they feel they want to achieve. (Hornik, Jacobsohn, Orwin, Piesse & Kalto, 2008). This objective can be significant even after campaigns as they can know if they achieved their goals.

7

       Materials

The materials used should be attractive to the eyes of the reader.

They ought to look at the requirements of the young people.

The materials that are loved by teenagers are best when used.

They should be easy to understand and direct to the point.

MATERIALS

The campaign materials should be very appealing to the eye, and they should consider all the aspects required by the youths as described above. Campaign materials like music videos should be used in delivering the message. (Kaler, 2009). This is because adolescents love things like music or videos, and therefore such campaign materials would help. To add to this, the campaign materials to be used need to make sense, they should be understandable by all those who read, watch, or listen to them. They should be easy to interpret, but most of all they should be entertaining as young people love watching, reading or listening to things that make them feel entertained.

8

Conclusion

In conclusion, all people aim in succeeding in everything.

The campaign greatly aims at performing and delivering in the best way.

These can only be achieved if the stated objectives have been achieved.

The main objective of the campaign is to combat the use of drugs amongst the youths.

As we conclude this, it should be noted that it is everyone's aim before venturing into something that will be a success. In this case, it is the hope of those campaigning that their campaign would be a success, and this would only happen if their aims and objectives are achieved. Their main goal is to fight against the drug abuse amongst the youths. This would be achieved if the cases listed of drug abuse would lower at a specific rate and that the lives of the young people would be seen to improve as they are tomorrow's leaders.
