SBE Rubric

Purpose The goal of the pre-simulation questions is to prepare you to engage in experiential learning. Each simulation-based experience (SBE) is designed to assist you in meeting the clinical learning competencies for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Chamberlain University College of Nursing.

Clinical Learning Competencies: This assignment enables the student to meet the following clinical learning competencies.

1. Prioritize appropriate nursing care based on theories and principles of nursing. (PO1)

2. Evaluate a plan in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary healthcare team, using the nursing process and leadership for adequate health promotion, maintenance, and restoration. (PO2)

3. Model Chamberlain Care when communicating with patients, families, and other healthcare providers. (PO3)

4. Combine clinical reasoning skills, current evidence, clinical expertise, and patient family preferences/values in the implementation of the nursing process. (PO4)

5. Completes all clinical learning experiences and requirements successfully. (PO5)

6. Apply principles of legal, ethical, and professional standards in planning for and delivering patient care. (PO6)

7. Incorporate professional standards to transition to the novice nurse role through clinical learning focused on safety both through individual performance and system effectiveness. (PO7)

8. Implement nursing research literature while providing patient and family care. (PO8)

Grading Rubric: Criteria are met when the student’s application of knowledge demonstrates achievement of the outcomes for this assignment. Failure to meet satisfactory completion of this assignment will result in the inability to attend simulation until the assignment is rewritten to meet the guidelines in this rubric.
