Dear Mr. Jones,

I am currently a Marriage and Family Therapist Master’s Student, at Long Island University, who will be doing practicum in January 2018. As such, I am presently seeking placement at your organization if available. I am a highly motivated and disciplined individual, with a passion for assisting individuals to strengthen and manage their relationships, overcome challenges and to advocate and empower them through education.

I have past experience in teaching, community outreach, and care taking; this can be evidenced in my resume attached. Over the summer, I also volunteered with GEARUP as a Mentor/Tutor for a group of minority high school students. Having this work experience has shaped and transformed my perspective on how imperative social support, advocacy and having a holistic approach to mental health is to any individual.
