Lesson Sequence

Introduction/Anticipatory Set

I will ensure that I design hands-on lessons, where I will get students up and moving in performing different activities. I will also reduce the amount of time I spend talking to learners.

From the previous interaction, I have mastered some of the interests of the learners. I will ensure that I link every activity with the student’s families and background to stir further imagination and interest.

Building/Applying Knowledge and Skills

Lesson Process

Step 1: Lay out the big piece of the black bulletin board paper and all other items found in the center.

Step2: Students to group all objects with similar color together in piles along the black paper; students should not be told where to place the objects. The students should make their own determination.

Step 3: after placing the objects, the students should be asked to observe and note the differences and similarities within the colors. Afterwards, they should create a label for every pile predominant color. Student’s should be given room to be creative.

Step 4: Allow students to go back to their seats or tables. Students should be given different markers or pencils describing the color of the group.

Step 5: request the students to chose a color cluster from the black tabloid and select crayons, pencils, and pointers describing their color group.

Step 6: experiment the different ways that the same marker, crayon, and color pencil can be used to create different colors.

Assessment

· Student’s should be able to split the paper into digs, fill in blocks with the same color in every quarter employing dissimilar compressions.

· Mark every quarter with the groups color tag

· Evaluate the learners on how they employ their color and their grouping of alike colors in every quartile.

Closure

Majority of the learners were able to relate the goal of the activity with the intended purpose. It was easy for some to identify color correctly and place them in the appropriate quarters. However, there are learners who struggled to aptly categorize different colors or match them up. The entire process should be able to bring an understanding of the social diversity and the importance of embracing the diversity. Learners should be able to appreciate every person regardless of their color or ethnic background, shun basic stereotypes and value every individual equally.

Reflection

The planning and implementation all went smoothly. However, the execution faced a little challenge which is normal for any leaning activity. However, I will encourage every student to inform their parents and caregivers on the importance of learning about different colors and categorization of the colors, especially to the students who found it difficult in identification and categorization. This will boost the student’s learning and development.
