Take an initial set of photographs and critique each one
Remember your audience
Who is your audience and what, specifically, do they want to see?
What are the highlights of the home?
Lighting
Bright, natural light is important to buyers
Open the blinds or curtains and let the sun shine in
Don’t shoot at night
A Step Above the Basics
Use the correct equipment
A wide-angle lens
A tripod
A quality flash, or more than one
Prepare the room
Don’t just shoot what’s there
Shoot what you, as a client, would want to see

Do You Have a View?
Use it to your advantage
Is it great enough to lead with?
Make it the first image
Include at least two or three
Consider the Angle
TAKE A VARIETY OF SHOTS AND CONSIDER THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF EACH ONE:
From Far Away, Up Close, or Both?
