Review of Residency 2 Purpose
The purpose of Residency 2 is to continue building your capacity to perform doctoral research and to develop initial ideas for dissertation studies.

We will use this graphic as a way to remind you where you are at in the process of Funneling Research Ideas down to the point where you could design a study.

The sessions in Residency 2 are aligned to developing parts of a practice Research Plan.
Every colored bar on the pyramid represents its own funnel all with the purpose of getting down to the research question.
The size of the task in each part doesn’t get smaller; the ideas get more focused.

Residency 4 Purpose
The purpose of Residency 4 is to provide support and feedback for successful continuation and completion of the proposal and final dissertation.

Dissertation Intensive Retreat
Option to attend DI or PhD Residency 4
During the Dissertation Intensives Retreat, participants will:
Meet with a faculty member for research feedback
Meet with a Form & Style Editor for writing feedback
Network with colleagues at the same stage of the writing process and develop ongoing writing support groups
