The Origin of Poverty and Suffering

The End of Poverty, Film n The End of Poverty is a documentary that traces the history and

the impact of people who live with barely enough money for their daily needs, especially on the experiences of entrenched poverty in the third world. In watching the video, you will see that poverty is not an accident or simply a case of bad luck, but that people across the world have remained poor due to the history of colonialism and imperialism; and thus the experience of global poverty across countries and within specific nations can be traced back to colonization from the 15th century. Furthermore, the documentary showcases how poverty is a consequence of free- market economic policies, specifically with the rise of deregulation, deindustrialization, and the evolution of the expulsion class, all of which will be part of lectures next week.
