Overview

Caregiving has a negative impact on the mental health of the caregivers. It can as well have a negative effect on their physical health. 2 Care givers experience feelings of being overwhelmed and overworked yet assume these signs and symptoms of anxiety and stress. 3. What qualities should a caregiver have?

4. Which are the services that the caregivers expect from a support group?

3. Project members conducting the assessment

1. Social workers

2. Nurses

3. Counselors

4. Methods used to obtain information

4 It will be necessary to administer surveys and/or questionnaires. Questionnaires are beneficial to the respondents the data can be collected relatively quickly, economically, and easier to analyze. 2 Questionnaires serve to record the performance of a specified group and collect feedback. Caregivers are mostly found at nursing homes and/or medical facilities, so these are the first places to look when finding caring to question. 3 They would be provided a Linker scale type questionnaire with pre-coded responses in regard to self-care, knowledge of available resources, and support/resource, and health and wellness. 2 Survey results should show if participants benefit from resources being provided in any of the aforementioned areas (Tuthy & Rothery, 2010).

5. Potential Solution

6. Conclusion

2 In conclusion, a follow-up needs assessment would be carried out to identify and evaluate the costs related to the program and its productiveness. As an evaluator, my issues will rely on specific prerequisites having been put into perspective. For example I will find out if the best practices being integrated in the program activities and if thee caregivers have noted any changes due to the services from the program. 2 Client participation have an effect on the results of the program, thus attendance logs will be reviewed at the end of the program meetings.
