Power is the ability to do or act. When one has power, it means one can influence or change something. Power is everywhere, at home, public institutions and private institutions, among other institutions. The government has the power to address issues of unemployment in the country. Through congress, the government can formulate policies that can solve the unemployment menace in the country. Therefore, I believe the government has the power to act upon social issues like unemployment because it has all the power and resources needed to change the situation (Khan Academy, 2021)
I have the power to mobilize fellow youths to speak out on the need for policies that will ensure everybody after graduation has a job. Young people are significant victims of unemployment, which pushes many into drugs and other social injustices like crime. With the power granted by the constitution of this great land, we can change the narrative of unemployment in society. We all need to believe in the power within us and use that to bring positive change in society. Unemployment carries other social issues like homelessness, addiction, crime and drug abuse. When the youths cannot provide for themselves, it will turn into crime and substance abuse, costing the government more money.
