powerpoint script (saunders)
This brief presentation will show you how to add narration to your PowerPoint presentation. Additional
resources are available in the assignment details.
Before you record your audio, you must first create your slideshow. Tips for effective presentations are
to keep your slides clean and uncluttered. Do not type out your entire script.
Images can be very effective, along with narration; just remember to keep the images relevant to what
you are presenting.
Remember to save your slides as you are creating your presentation.
After you have completed your slides, write up your script. A script will guide you while you are
recording your presentation. Simply save this as a separate word document, which should be submitted
along with your presentation file. Now you are ready to record your audio.
To record your audio, you will be using either the microphone internal to your computer, or have your
external mic hooked up. The prompts that come up may be different, so I am not attempting to work
through all the different prompts. Start by going to slide show in the top menu bar in PowerPoint. Click
on "Record Slide Show" or "Record Narration", depending on your version of PowerPoint. This is where
different prompts about setting up or testing your microphone may come up. Narrate your slides as you
click through them, using your script as a guide. Save it as a presentation.
Submit the presentation and accompanying script in the assignments section of the classroom, just as
you would a word document. There should be two attachments before you submit the assignment.
