Managing diversity in the workplace may sound too difficult for managers but it is an issue that can be easily solved by fully engaging those with different backgrounds, capabilities, and cultures (Ferdman, & Deane, 2014). It involves activities such as promoting, recruiting and training. A manager must incorporate the attitude of the organization towards diversity into a corporate mission statement. He or she should also ensure that the attitude is incorporated into the tasks. New approaches for various tasks can also be easily be discovered when working and sharing as a team. It is also imperative that managers be able to see for adequate allocation for funding which ensures that there is a success in the diversity efforts. As leaders, managers must set a good example for the members of the organization by participating in diversity programs and even making such participation mandatory.

Approaches to Diversity and Inclusion

Managers can ensure that there is proper organizational management in order to attract and manage well a diverse environment in workplace, The assessment helps in evaluating the workforce, policies, culture and practices which are seen in areas such as recruitment process, promotions which shows signs of diversity consideration, their benefits as well as the compensation (Ferdman, & Deane, 2014). The next step is to ensure that employees from diverse cultures and backgrounds are attracted to the company through offering equal recruitment opportunities, ensuring accommodations of the family needs and work as well as developing alternative job arrangements. Skill building and awareness building to ensure that the staff members can deal with one another as well as the clients from diverse backgrounds. It is also important to include aspects such as support groups as well as the mentors which ensure that people who have high potential to tolerate diversity are awarded top management promotions.

Research suggests that inclusion is continuously creating a community involved with defining and addressing public issues; participation emphasizes public input on the content of programs and policies (Quick & Feldman, 2011 p. 1). Allowing employees to participate empowers all people groups and enhances diversity initiatives throughout the organization. Inclusion guided practices allows an organization to examine fully the organizational culture. It allows leaders to view stereotypical behavior with open-mindedness because of employee participation.

According to The Inclusive Leader Report (n.d.), if diversity is “the mix” then inclusion is making the mix work by leveraging the wealth of knowledge and perspectives in an open, trusting, and diverse workplace. Inclusion should harness trust, openness, and participation so that leaders can move the organization towards it goals. Inclusion allows the organization to be free so that stereotypes and the idea of mistrust can be spoken of directly by leaders and employees.

Leaders can feel unprepared to be inclusive. However, inclusion begins with each individual by addressing their own thoughts, perceptions, and actions toward others.

A firewall is a system in information security that provides encryption architecture for data files. Some of the methodologies include transparent, static packet filtering, proxy, net generation, and application inspection amongst other firewalls. In order to design network security, it is Import to consider its strengths and weaknesses (Weiss, & Mache, 2011). To begin with, firewalls provide perfect security policies. Whatever the executive management of the company has agreed to protect, then, by configuring the firewall system, all the communications are kept protected.

Another strength associated with the firewall is its ability to protect intrusion into specified data files. Also, firewalls provide transparency. This means that there is no need to install any software in a network within an end-user workstation (Weiss, & Mache, 2011). Another strength of a firewall is that it provides access to information auditing. Finally, firewalls have a capability of passing alerts to the convenient people about a trending event.

On the other hand, firewalls are prone to weaknesses that are not limited to the following. The effectiveness of a firewall is only convenient to a minimum configuration level (Weiss, & Mache, 2011). That means that overusing it with eventually lower its effectiveness. Firewalls are not a hundred per cent perfect security systems since it is vulnerable to pro-founding malicious breaches. Another weakness associated with firewall security software is its in-effective ability to enforced undefined security policies. Finally, firewall software is delimited with its inability to prevent attacks if at all it was not passed through a traffic system.

Windows Firewall: Windows Firewall is an important security application that’s built into Windows. One of its roles is to block unauthorized access to your computer. The second role is to permit authorized data communications to and from your computer.

Benefits:

· Customization and Configuration

You can customize firewall setting and configure exceptions by accessing Windows Firewall in the Control Panel. Windows Firewall allows you to add ports to manually allow incoming traffic from other networks. Properly configuring Windows Firewall can prevent malicious attacks on all computers on your network, reports the Microsoft Corporation.

· Thorough Traffic Blocking

Windows Firewall offers a global default traffic handling security policy that thoroughly blocks all unsolicited incoming traffic to all computer network connections, reports WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. By default, Windows Firewall only allows incoming connections from Windows remote assistance. This security measure protects both computer administrators and users by enforcing a policy of only allowing connections that have been specifically permitted.

· Security Center Coordination

Security Center alerts you when your firewall is not turned on and also displays the status of Windows Firewall, your antivirus, and other settings on one convenient screen, according to PC Today.

Disadvantages

· Packet filters do not understand application layer protocols.

· Packet filters does not offer any value-added features, such as HTTP object caching, URL filtering, and authentication because they do not understand the protocols being used.

· Packet filtering routers are not very secure.

· Can’t discriminate between good and bad packet

· New rules may be needed to be added if an employee needs special requirements to connect to the internet.

· Difficulty of setting up packet filtering rules to the router

· There isn’t any sort of user based Authentication.

· Packet filter cannot authenticate information coming from a specific user.
