I have learnt that nursing theory is so important because it can be viewed as guiding how we think about nursing. Nursing theory aids nurses in comprehending their patients and their requirements. The theory offers various templates to assist nurses in giving care that respects patients and enhances results. Nursing theory affords nurses a solid understanding of care ideas. This is crucial because it aids nurses in providing evidence to support the practices that support their work. These ideas seek to clarify the complex, dynamic interaction that nurses have with their field by recognizing the intersection of nursing, patients, health, and the environment. Nursing theory helps ensure the profession carves out its own niche in the complex, evolving world of health care providers
With the current utilization of nursing theory being emphasis on evidence-based practice, inquiry-based practice, best practices, and the consistent quality outcomes, my practice will continue being based on evidence-based practice. Nursing with compassion and care to clients.

During this semester we have covered multiple different points about nursing theory and about the theorist and what they believe and represent. That being said some of the nursing theorist that I recently discovered really stood out and I can relate to. One of them being Phil Baker tidal model which believes that involves the patient mental health well-being is reliant on their previous experiences over their lifetime and perception of oneself.
I can incorporate the different nursing theory specifically Orem theory of self-care. In this theory, the nurse assists clients by acting for, teaching, guiding, supporting, and providing a developmental environment. I will use this theory by teaching and guiding my patients to take better care of themselves making the onus on them for their healthcare. I will also take the aspect of furthering my knowledge and education so that I can better inform the patient about the current research so that I can better care for them.
Nursing theory will influence my thinking by giving me a deeper understanding of the nursing profession, including the different roles and responsibilities that I may have, the various settings in which nursing occurs, and the complex interactions between nurses, patients, families, and healthcare teams. It will also the way I see patient and their ability to perform self-care while in a vulnerable state. It will also me think about what it takes to take care of a patient and the different teams involved in nursing care.
