Solution-focused therapy
Introduction
In this discussion we will explore the goal-oriented, future-focused ideology of solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT). Unlike traditional methods, SFBT does not analyze or focus on problems or past experiences, but rather focuses on the client’s present and future goals. SFBT resembles positive psychology in that it concentrates on what is right and working in the client’s life, instead of dwelling on problems or weaknesses. This positivity empowers and motivates the client to overcome their difficulties in a relatively short period of time.
