The strategy I chose using Porter's Strategies was the Differentiation Strategy because, first, Whole Foods, in the video I saw no customer service, the customers were helping themselves, there were no one around to help them find or locate any product in the store, but with Publix it stands on customer service. Whole Foods claims that their prices are competitive with most stores except on certain products. The founder stated that they sell quality food and when you sell quality you have to charge a little more, but Publix believe in having competitive pricing with all of it's products. With Publix, their team knows and are ready to show a customer where things are. If there are too many customer in a line, Publix is ready to open up as many lines as possible to accommodate their customers, which in Whole Foods it only showed one cash register being open. Also, the founder spoke of their snacks are not as healthy as they claim to be, which Whole Foods is a store that is supposed to centered around healthy living. The difference between Publix and Whole Foods is that Publix stands on it reputation for quality and innovation, their customer service, and their team to communicate where each product in their store is located, whereas, Whole Foods cannot say the same.
