How will I be graded?

20 points Exordium

An appeal to pathos, exigency, and thesis should be clear.

20 points Curation of Research

Your essay should use a balance of paraphrase, quoted material, and author’s interpretation.

20 points Argument/Logos

Your essay should provide multiple specific examples of logos including statistics, induction,

deduction, definition, etc. Opposing argument(s) must be acknowledged.

20 points MLA

In-text citations wherever appropriate, documented correctly, absolutely no information should remain

uncited, this includes introducing your source by author and title into the content before citing

it. Standard MLA style Works Cited should be included.

20 points Conclusion

A conclusion that makes a clear, specific suggestion as to how you think the issue you have chosen

should be resolved/handled, this should include a call to action – do NOT simply repeat your thesis

statement and/or summarize your introduction.
