Everyone left for ‘better opportunity’ What caused them to leave their home, family, friends, etc. Try to find out why she/he left their home. This needs to explain what was happening IN the country at the time that caused migration. 1 pt
c. Describe how you found out when & why they left. Be specific. Name who you talked to, why they knew, name a research sources if you used them, etc. 1 pt

This part of the paper asks you to use the Anthropology terms explained in UNIT 2, Section 3. You may want to review that material to answer these questions. Use specific examples from your chosen Culture to prove you understand the Anthropology terms used in the Primary Institutions of Culture.

PART IV: OTHER INTERESTING INFORMATION this part is worth 22 points total, that's over 1/5 of the points Use the Country/Culture & time period named in PART l to answer ALL the questions in PART lV.
Describe 5 different specific topics/subjects. You may use things, traditions, past-times, activities, etc. from this Culture. DO NOT REPEAT SUBJECTS IN PARTS I, II OR III. Use topics interesting to you. Use what you learned in your interview, saw in the Visual resource or book. Do NOT compare to US or other Cultures. Clearly name, describe & explain each topic as it is uniquely found in this Culture. There is a weekly assignments corresponding to this part.
Do exactly what is asked in each of the 4 sections. Each answer is worth 1 point. Use details. Be Specific. 5 topics x 4 sections=20 points. 2 points extra if done well!
1. Name each topic. BE SPECIFIC. Find topics that are unique to this Culture. Don't use huge, general subjects. Food, is too general. Well know dessert is specific.
2. Describe your subject by explaining at least 2 details about it. REALLY describe the topic. Mention dates of festivals, ingredients in food, etc. Name specifics!
3. Explain how each topic is integrated into the larger Culture. Be specific. Name at least 2 other parts of the larger Culture your topic is interconnected with. Explain their integration using accurate Anthropology terms. This is not the same as paper 1. Look at the comments on the weekly assignment for help here.
4. Tell me why each particular subject you chose interested you. Again, give details. Explain what piqued your interest about each topic.
Thoroughly answer all 4 questions for each subject/topic. General, non-specific subjects or/& missed or vague answers lose points. This should be an easy 22 oints if done well.

PART V: The APPENDIX must include ALL the following. this last part is worth 13 points total This is not part of the page requirement.
1. Read a Current Event NEWS Article about the country. Be SURE this is a news event, not an editorial, opinion, etc. 5 pts Answer these 4 questions: a. How did you find the article? Explain a few details. Give search process, some sites visited, etc. b. Give a clear reason why you used this particular article. c. Connect this news to the Culture. Explain how this current event NEWS relates to the Culture you analyzed. d. Explain what personally interested you about the article. e. Include a copy of the NEWS article in the Appendix.
2. Include the 2 Maps explained in “Required Resources”. Be sure you indicate the country being analyzed on each map. 2 pts
3. Bibliography: Cite all the sources you use; written, visual, interview, news article, maps, etc. 6 pts Everything needs to be cited as explained under “Required Sources” at the beginning of these instructions. You may cite any other sources you use in the format of your choice. Remember do NOT QUOTE ANY MATERIAL FROM THE WRITTEN LECTURES. Always use your own words. A quote without “quotation marks” & (a parenthetical citation) from a source that is not included in your Bibliography will be considered Plagiarism.
