Learning Team Assignment: Acquiring and Managing Project Teams

Purpose of Assignment

Students investigate best practices of project management for acquiring, developing, and managing a project team, with focus on similarities and differences between managing local and virtual teams. This assignment is relevant because many project managers achieve their work through globally dispersed teams. Often, parts of projects are outsourced. This relationship must be carefully managed. Students research these issues and discover how project managers ensure success under these circumstances. Students prepare a presentation video which will include the best practices for acquiring, developing, and managing high-performance project teams.
