Please reply to the following in APA style the 7th Edition. 200-250 words

This is the question to the reply

Leadership is defined in many ways. For some leadership is a construct within which to situate oneself on the basis of a title or a set of behaviors or skills. Others view leadership as a calling of sorts contending that some are literally "born leaders." Considering the readings so far, your own personal and professional experience, and your observations of others, what is your picture of leadership? How does your picture differentiate between leadership and management? How is this picture of leadership textured by your identity and worldview?

Hello Dr. Piercy and Classmates,

Leadership is crucial especially within one’s professional life but it is also important in one’s personal life. Everyone has the opportunity to act as a leader at some point in their lives. Everyone leads in their own way. A person’s personality could influence how their leaderships skills. A person must have several qualities to become or remain a leader. A leader must be honest, optimistic, accountable, decisive, confident, empathetic, aware and an influencer. Leaders must be able to influence their followers. Their followers look to them for guidance. A leader must also offer commitment. Leaders are not able to do what they want to do at all times; sometimes leaders have to act in a way that is pleasing to others and think less of themselves in certain situations. For example, in a leadership position there may be times when colleagues call off work for certain reasons. In times like this, it is important for the leadership to step up and cover those who may have issues and aren’t able to make their shift. This shows commitment and dedication on behalf of the leader it also shows empathy for others and for the organization.

A leader must show that he/she understands the feelings of others. With empathy along with the other skills listed it is difficult to grow as an effective leader. There are different leadership styles and a leader must pick the one that closely matches their personality. Leadership style includes authentic leadership, transformational leadership, feminist leadership, transactional leadership, inclusive leadership, situational leadership, behavioral leadership, contingent leadership and achievement oriented leadership (Berger, 2014). While it is important for the leader to pick a style that closely matches their personality; the leader must also take on a style that is also valuable to the organization they are leading. The management and leadership role differentiates as management focuses more on giving people orders to achieve a goal rather than motivating and influencing others to achieve a goal for the betterment of the organization (Nayar, 2013). Having power and controlling others is different from influencing others to give their best efforts. As a student and full time employee, the picture of leadership would be textured by personal identity or attributes and worldview with also being a caring, honest and accountable Christian falling into the leadership styles of achievement oriented, authentic leadership or inclusive leadership style.

In my opinion no one are born leaders. I do believe God did place leadership qualities in each individual and they may have the ability to lead rather it is in a negative way or positive way. I do believe God has a calling on everyone however everyone is not called to lead; but the chosen one GOD will raise up to lead. The bible said many are called but few are chosen and those selected few that GOD has chosen are the ones that will be great leaders. In order to be a leader, you must learn how to follow and great followers will become great leaders. My high school football coach use to say everybody wants to be chiefs but no one wants to be an Indian. I never understood what he meant by that, but as I got older, I started to understand what he meant by that statement. My picture of leadership is someone who leads by example, someone who is understanding to peoples need, firm, open minded, creative, selfless and displays discipline. If leaders do not lead by example than they are lying to themselves and others as they are portraying the wrong identity. Leadership and management are somewhat similar in my opinion because it is about being a people person and understanding folks needs and wants. In the peer review article, the problems and promise of contemporary leadership theories discussed how leadership theories of today accentuate behavior of leaders and their relationships with followers (Spector, 2014). That is why my statement, leading by example makes a true leader because folks are always watching you and you never know who is watching. This picture of leadership is textured through my identity by me leading by example as a leader of my own business and ministry. My character is everything and when that is damaged the hard work is difficult to rebuild back.

Re: Module 1 DQ 1 Jessica Rodriguez

Leadership is subjective because of the many variables that can be taken into account when considering what "makes" a good leader. It is described often that a leader can be made by supplying the correct skills to an individual or they are born out of the universe with the skills needed in order to succeed. However, the view still comes from the followers of the leader and thus the effect that a leader has on their followers speaks more about the leader than if they are made or born. If a leader can inspire their followers and create change in their organization then the skills of the leader are shown with evidence rather than a subjective view. As Salas-Vallina, Simone, and Fernandez-Guerrero (2020) have pointed out, the happiness of a frontline worker comes from the leader's abilities to guide an organization more than it relies on any other aspect of the job.

This is the question to the reply

Research can be conducted for a variety of reasons including searching for effective change strategies that allow followers to perceive of someone as a leader rather than a manager or studying a specific problem as one will encounter when preparing the doctoral dissertation. What is research? How is scholarly research different from other kinds of research? What are the essential components of scholarly research? Is the investigation you propose to conduct in this scenario considered scholarly research? Why or why not? How will scholarly research help prepare you for writing your dissertation?

Re: Module 1 DQ 2 Kevinesia Williams

Good Evening Dr. Piercy and Classmates,

Research is crucial to making improvements for academic measures and professional measures. Research is primarily used to solve problems. This is used for students, professors, healthcare and educational organizations and many other businesses (What Is Academic Research and What Does It Look Like in Practice? 2020).  Research occurs when someone does an experiment to collect data to support answers they may be looking for; research leads to progression in academic studies and professions. Research gives researchers and their audience the opportunity to learn something new. There are different types of research they may be included in academic or scholarly research such as quantitative, mixed, descriptive, longitudinal, action, cross sectional, quantitative, experimental, correlational, quasi experimental and casual comparative are considered different types of research students or professionals may use to find the solution to their questions (Siegle, n.d.).

Scholarly research is different from other research because scholarly research typically involves a scholarly article in which was created by master of professional for students experts and other professionals to review and study. Many times during scholarly research students find and use peer reviewed articles. Peer reviewed articles are reviewed by associates of the author who are also experts in the subject before publishing the article. Some essential components of scholarly research may include references, research methods, discussion, conclusion and literature review. The investigation proposed in this scenario is considered scholarly research as the use of references are required for this discussion, a qualitative research method was used to participate in this discussion topic and answers were obtained through research. Scholarly research will help in preparation of writing the dissertation as students practice and strengthen their skills they are able to become better writers.

Re: Module 1 DQ 2

Research is a process through which one seeks answers to questions. The act of research and be conducted through various methods. Ince et al. (2020) suggest that the student heavily influences research and how it is conducted. Through interviews, some students revealed that they get allies peers, google scholar, only paper texts, and even social media. The research process requires the researcher to have a roadmap or checklist as they go through the different stages, which may include creating a question for inquiry, organizing information, picking information, and communicating one’s findings (Ince et al., 2020). Scholarly research collects data to contribute to an ongoing conversation. Scholarly research is different from other types of research because it seeks to fill a gap that others may have missed, thereby providing a valuable contribution for researchers that follow. The essential components of scholarly research are data collection, guidance, validity, analysis, and ethics(Baker, 2006). Based on the definition of scholarly research, the investigation conducted in this scenario should be considered scholarly research as Peer-reviewed journal articles are required. Scholarly research will help prepare the doctoral student for the dissertation writing process by helping the individual become comfortable with research, databases, and peer-reviewed articles. Conducting as much research as required for each module multiple times a week also provides the student with several opportunities to see scholarly writing models.

Re: Module 1 DQ 2

Research is the ability to find answers in multiple ways. The methods of which they occur can be through data collection, reading and synthesis of written work, or even personal experience that enhances one's knowledge. However, scholarly research is different from other kinds of research because, as Ryan (1998) describes, the expectation behind the quality of work is much different from that which is commonly read in the public. Scholarly research must present a solid argument that enlightens the reader and provides new information that can help shape a topic. Some of the components that are required for strong scholarly research are well articulated and researched hypothesis that contributes knowledge, well-written papers that will convey the ideas of the researcher, and conclusions that are drawn from the data and not from assumptions the author can make. Scholarly research and the analysis of it will help to improve doctoral students writing for the dissertation by providing models upon which to follow and methods that can be explored in order to obtain data.

Annotated Bibliography and Outline – Leadership Style

Synthesis is the process of creating a new idea by analyzing multiple disparate concepts or notions to discern the common thematic or connecting principles among them. Synthesis of research is a process learned through time and practice. In this assignment, you will engage in the first parts of the synthesis process: annotating and outlining.

General Requirements:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

· Locate the journal articles assigned in the first two modules of this course.

· This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

· Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments. The APA Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center.

· Refer to "Preparing Annotated Bibliographies," located in the Student Success Center, for additional guidance on completing this assignment in the appropriate style.

· You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. Refer to the LopesWrite Technical Support articles for assistance.

Directions:

Provide an annotated bibliography (750-1,000 words total) of three of the assigned journal articles from the first two modules of this course. Include the following for each article:

1. The article citation and persistent link. These are provided for you in the topic materials to paste into the assignment and are not included in the total word count. Be sure to verify the accuracy of the reference formatting as these can change during the insertion process.

2. A written summary of the key concept(s) of the article. Why was the study done? What was the population studied? What did the researcher(s) conclude? What other information about this study do you believe is unique or important to recall? Are there specific statements made by the author that you wish to retain?

Construct an outline for a paper that will explain and synthesize the articles you read for this assignment with at least two additional, topically-related, empirical articles that you will select. The paper will require identification of themes common to all of the articles as well as a statement of the conclusions that can be drawn when the articles are taken together as a single entity. You will be writing the paper in the next assignment.

Synthesis Paper – Leadership Style

Synthesis is the act of creating something new from multiple existing entities. Synthesis of research, then, is creating a new idea from existing ideas. It is a process developed through time and practice. In this assignment, you will apply the synthesis process to the course journal readings and your selected readings. As you synthesize, consider how leadership style influences leadership practice and results. For example, leadership style effects followers through the choice of public vs. private engagement or the use of public praise vs. active coaching. In some cases, what a leader does not say or do can have a significant effect on both the sense of value and the motivation of group members.

General Requirements:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

· Refer to the annotated bibliography and outline you created in the Module 2 assignment along with the assignment feedback from your instructor.

· Locate at least two additional, topically-related, empirical articles. Use "Empirical Research Checklist" to guide your selection.

· This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

· Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments. The APA Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center.

· You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. Refer to the LopesWrite Technical Support articles for assistance.

Directions:

Locate the annotated bibliography and outline you created in the Module 2 assignment. Using the outline you developed, the information from the annotated bibliography, and the feedback provided by your instructor, write a paper (2,000-2,250 words) that synthesizes three of the articles assigned in the first two modules of this course with the two (or more) topically-related, empirical articles you selected. Do that by including the following:

1. A statement of at least three common themes addressed in all of the articles.

2. A statement of the conclusions that can be drawn when the articles are taken together as a single entity. What is the overall message of the group of articles? Focus specifically on the connection between leadership style and leadership theory in areas such as individual identity, culture, and worldview. What are the potential effects of these and other individual leadership characteristics and style; how do they influence the methods leaders choose to guide groups or organizations?
