Playground Negotiation Assignment.

Community volunteer (CV)/ Park & Recreation (PnR)

Due to the high number of students, we will have two teams of Community Volunteer and Park

& Recreation.

Facilitator: Amy

Elements of the Group:

Have 2 groups representing each group. Each group will prepare a group planning worksheet to

be used in the group discussion that will be held during class. Time for group planning will also

be allocated to the end of class periods between now and the discussion.

Amy will be able to introduce unknown elements to the case for either side.

Tentative Schedule for Night of Negotiation:

5:30p – 6:15p: Final preparation for both groups 6:15p – 7:15p: Group A Negotiation 7:15p – 7:30p: Break 7:30p – 8:30p: Group B Negotiation 8:30p – 9:00p: Debrief for both groups.

Individual Effort: Reflection Paper

Elements of the paper can include, but not limited to:

1. Observations from both sides of the case

2. Concepts used in the negotiation from class discussion

3. Preparation done individually and as a group

4. Your personal opinion on the process

5. Group Dynamics – how did this influence the process and outcome?

6. What would you have done differently? How would it have changed the outcome?

Paper Requirements:

 Length of paper: No more than 12 pages, no less than 5 pages.

 Font: Arial, 11 size, standard margins.

 No more than double space. No single space!

 You MUST cite any references or external sources used in research.

 A rubric will be provided for grading
