The networking industry has evolved in the past years, and the focus is now changing to the software than the previous focus on hardware speeds. For networking professionals, the new options mean that they have to go back to school and keep updating their skills. The following is a highlight of the current network trends. Virtualization

Virtualization has become the primary trends in the recent past as more and more companies rely on the benefits of virtualization in every aspect of the business. In all the parts of the universe, companies rely on virtualization through cloud-based and hybrid systems that help in cutting down their operating costs at the same time improving the business processes and Information Technology management (Albert, 2016). Changes have been everywhere, from the process of monitoring virtualization to the store of resources both external and internal. The improvement on virtualization has been witnessed in peak uptime and improving application and service provision by virtualization. When technology evolves, new trends crop up, and more technologies will continue emerging as long as companies continue using virtualization. Major companies have completely changed to hosting their server, and other technology needs to the server instead of local hosting and having physical requests (Goransson, & Black, 2014). Why virtualization has been consistent

Cheap processing power: Virtualization has been using expensive mainframe technology. The new hypervisors currently run on x64 and 86 processors that have exponentially increased the power of the processors. This has opened up the market of virtualization to larger market including the small businesses that had earlier been left out (Albert, 2016)

Improved Technology – Since the servers have become cheaper and more available, these companies have been taking advantage of this technology to reduce the costs of using expensive local servers. Consolidating the servers allows the companies to keep their data centres maintained by the companies offering virtualization. Comment by Grammarly: Deleted:e

Reduction of Energy use: when green computing came into, it was a new idea and companies did not know how to cope up with it. Distributed servers will need a lot of energy as the processors become more powerful, therefore when businesses use consolidated servers, they promote green energy by reducing the net energy used in running the business processes. Lower maintenance costs:

Several research has found that when companies adopt virtualization, the cost of monitoring and maintaining the machines drastically reduce by 20%. Comment by Grammarly: Deleted:ve

Network and Storage Virtualization (VSANs)

Another network trending technology is Virtualization of Storage Area Networks has become more popular in the recent past. VSANs offer ease of use on online data storage, flexibility, security and scalability. VSAN is useful because the business does not buy any hardware nor do they need to update while scaling up the company often as it happened before. The result is the reduction of hardware redundancy and reduces the investment cost (Goransson & Black, 2014). Today, while using VSAN, companies can create WLAN in the respective companies and have their data synchronized in different geographical locations. VSAN provides secure and easy access to data. For the companies that do supplies to external vendors, communication is enhanced therefore business objectives are easily met. Comment by Grammarly: Deleted:f Comment by Grammarly: Deleted:r

Updated Physical Resources

The computing and storage equipment that IT departments use, as well as physical network parts like routers and switches, has undergone a sea change in recent times. Newer kinds of hardware available today are designed to run and configure VLANs (virtual LANs) as well as support virtual network design and implementation, and companies are investing in these to avoid virtualization issues (Bertola, Franchini, & Alvisi, 2007). New Players in Virtualization

VMware led the virtualization world for a long period, of late; many other technologies have joined the market. Many players have curved a niche as HyperV, IBM and HP have all gained the market share with a provision of solution specific software and systems. Their solutions are geared towards customers who have had problems with VMware. They are exploring VMware Vulnerability (Albert, 2016).

Consumer-Oriented Virtualization

This is the design of the system for use by the consumers as opposed to the enterprises only approach taken by the previous providers. This trend has taken a centre stage and is expected to continue. The current consumer-oriented virtualization is shown by software-based SIM that can be used on the laptop. There is a major growth in the Consumer-Oriented Virtualization. The Xngati offers enterprises the solutions for any virtualization problems such as maintaining solutions and provide the real-time tracking for consumers (Goransson, & Black, 2014). Software Defined Networking (SDN)

The major goal of SDN is enabling cloud network engineers and administrators respond fast enough to changing business requirements using the centralized control console. SDN is armed with various network technologies designed to make the network. Agile and flexible in supporting a virtualized server of the modern data centre. SDN is in emerging architecture that is both cost-effective and manageable, adaptable, that make it ideal for today's nature of applications. The architecture allows the forwarding and control to be programmable, abstracted and infrastructure for various network services and applications. The architecture uses Open Flow Protocol used in SDN solutions. Comment by Grammarly: Deleted:e

· Agile: Abstracting control from forwarding lets administrators dynamically adjust network-wide traffic flow to meet changing needs.

· Directly programmable: Network control is directly programmable because it is decoupled from forwarding functions.

· Centrally managed: Network intelligence is (logically) centralized in software-based SDN controllers that maintain a global view of the network, which appears to applications and policy engines as a single, logical switch.
