Here is the rubric I'll use to grade the journals; 

Author includes one or two sentence introduction that identifies the topic of the journal entry: Yes

Author includes reasons for their views: Yes

Author cites the textbook: Yes

Author includes a set of sentences at the end of their entry where their thoughts are summarized:Yes

Journal entry shows consistent attention to grammatical and syntactical rules: Yes

Word choice makes sense and author's meaning is clear: Yes

Journal entry includes more than one paragraph and first lines of paragraphs are indented: Yes

Submission is properly cited and/or contains mostly student’s own writing.  Yes
