Remember Plato's Ion dialogue that we considered in the Self-Introduction forum?  Ion, the Brad Pitt or Will Smith of his day, thought he knew quite a lot, but what did Socrates find out?  

Next, why do people attend films and stage plays they know will evoke very strong emotions, often prompting viewers to cry and carry on.  People pay for such things. Why do people do this?  What would Aristotle say is the reason behind people's willingness to cry and carry on, while watching a film or stage play?
