1. Introduction
1. Introductory statement (one or two sentences), formulating the issue involved in the topic you picked. The follow up with a statement of your thesis which is your stand on the issue.
2. Transitional statement pointing out how you’ll be establishing the thesis. You may wish to include a preview the major points of the overall argumentation (all arguments backing up the thesis). Do not get into details at this point.
2. Body
2.1. Argument #1
· Present the argument.
· Anticipate a legitimate objection being made against one, some or all aspect(s) of the argument, you’ve just made, and address the objection with integrity. Remember that this objection against your argument is in fact a counterargument.
· Rebut the counterargument tactfully—but honestly---especially if it is either unfair or beside the point.
· Consider honestly making adjustments to strengthen your argument Should, however, the point made in the objection be so valid that it might undermine part of your argument, then consider honestly making adjustments to strengthen your argument.

2.3. Argument #3
· Present the argument.

Note: The number of arguments is variable. Bear in mind, however, that the stronger your arguments are the fewer they will be.
3. Conclusion
3.1. Briefly re phrase the thesis, and restate your stand.
3.2. Indicate how, in a very short summary of all your arguments, you managed to establish your thesis or stand.
