Part 1

In Chapter 2 of the textbook, locate and read Leadership Case Problem A. Then, write two pages in essay format, addressing the topics below.

· Analyze Suzanne's performance as a leader, and explain how well she demonstrated ability with the four foundations of leadership. Why is the cognition foundation critically important to the organization?

· Critique Suzanne's leadership traits. Explain whether they aid in empowerment or not. Determine recommendations for Suzanne to increase her empowerment of employees.

· Determine Suzanne's level of emotional intelligence, and summarize how emotional intelligence contributes to leadership

effectiveness.

Part 2

In Chapter 8 of the textbook, locate and read Leadership Case Problem B. In a two-pages essay, address the prompts below.

· Analyze Katerina’s demonstrated traits and behaviors, and explain how these led to follower commitment or not. Would you say she falls into one of the three types of charisma? If so, which one? Why, or why not?

· Contrast ethical and unethical influence tactics. Describe whether Katerina exhibited any.

· Hypothesize how you believe Katerina would have addressed resistance to her tactics of influence. Please support your

claim with evidence.

Part 3

In Chapter 4 of the textbook, locate and read Leadership Case Problem B. In a two-pages essay, address the prompts below.

· Examine the importance of behavior as a leader. Explain how Rasheed's behavior affected the team and his abilities as a

leader.

· Explain the importance of collaborative skills using emerging, relevant leadership styles. Which leadership style did Rasheed exhibit? How did that style tie into his collaboration efforts?

· Explain how using a different leadership style than the one Rasheed exhibited could help him to grow as a leader.

· Analyze the impact of critical issues and emerging theories in leadership on the role of leadership in organizational performance.

· What recommendations would you give to Rasheed based on the outcome of his situation?

Research sources to support your ideas. Your essay should be a minimum of six pages in APA format. A title page or reference pages do not count toward this requirement. You must include a minimum of three sources, at least two sources should come from the CSU Online Library. Your textbook can be a resource. Please label each part of your paper according to the outline listed above.

Adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are used. Please note that no abstract is needed.
