Type of Persuasive Speech: Fact, Policy or Value
Organizational Pattern: This is the pattern your speech follows. Please see your text for different patterns.
Audience Analysis:
Demographic – What are is the basic demographic makeup of your audience. Be specific age, education, etc.
Psychological - What are the mostly likely attitudes, values and beliefs of the audience towards your topic?
Situational – What are the factors surrounding the speaking situation? Time of day? Location? Etc.
Be sure to focus on your audience’s disposition towards your topic. Evaluate the degree from strongly opposed to strongly in favor of your audience relative to your topic. Based on this initial audience position, discuss what you can hope to accomplish in your speech
Visual Aid: Your visual aid can be your body – if you use it to demonstrate something, poster, object, PowerPoint, etc.

Speaker-Audience-Topic (SAT) Connection – What your topic is and why the audience should want to hear about this topic. C. Thesis – What your will speak about, D. Credibility – Why you are qualified to speak to the audience about the topic. E. Preview of Main Points – You most like will not preview your main points! – You don’t want the audience to prejudge if you are trying to persuade.
