Topic: Technology Addiction

Specific Purpose: To motivate my audience to limit the use of technology

Central idea: allowing breaks from the many devices we have is better for your mind, body, and spirit. If you set some realistic goals and combine them with a few small habit changes, you may discover that limiting your technology use and unplugging throughout the day can lead to a healthier and happier lifestyle.

A. Attention Getter: When is the last time you didn’t use your phone for a whole day. Some of us can have our daily life crippled when our phones are taken from them. Technology has essentially become a crutch to them. So how are you an addict of technology?

B. Credibility Statement:

1. I used to be addicted to technology.

2. And I have found a way to gradually reduce the interaction with technology in my life and I find myself happier.
