PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

MBA 510 Management

PERSONAL VISION STATEMENT

A journey of a thousand miles starts with one steps. Four years ago when Sue Smith graduated from Ohio Dominican University, she did not have much but a dream. It was easy to desire and pre plan where she would want to be however this was just a dream waiting to be made a reality. Throughout her campus years she worked extra hard to ensure that she graduates with 4.0 GPA which she did. Three months after graduating campus he was offered a job at pure link institution where she worked as an accountant for 6 months.

Within these six months she acquired great expertise in management and accounting and was later promoted to assistant accountant for the entire firm. Even though she had better dreams for herself she continued to excel in her workplace and to gain as much experience as possible.

She has masters in auditing from Ohio Dominican and a PHD on international business relations from the same university. She later joined McNolkin and Kin Company where he was the chief accountant in charge of all the resources in the organization. While at Pure Link she left an unforgettable legacy. She emphasized on accountability even when such is not directly required from you.

She also served as a peer to peer advisor to enlighten her colleagues and interns with job ethics and financial management. While at McNolkin she was able to operate and manage Sage and Quick book as these packages were still new to the organization. Recently she got a Job as the cost accountant in Price waterhouse cooper. This has been her dream job since she set foot in campus 8 years ago.

The journey to the top has been a bed of roses and the thorns in between. She has struggled to raise funds for herself since her parents were not well of. Additionally given her young age it was not easy at all to find a spot among the elderly. Many times she was discredited as lacking experience and appropriate know how due to her age. However amidst all odds, she has kept her resilience and managed to realize her dream.

She has managed to write academic journals and articles for major scholarly journals on accounting and professional ethics. She wrote the infamous “outstanding accountant” and “The secrets of Professionalism” for the International Journal of Accounting. She has motivated and supervised a lot of dissertation based on her philosophy. She has had to leave her family for months in order to attend to business matters. This is a huge sacrifice that has seen her climb the ladder of excellence. This is a reflection of hard work, commitment and sacrifice. It has taken an exceptional woman of Integrity and character to sore the ladder of excellence and stick at the top.

useful for growth. Professionalism and ethics of business are ultimately upheld because individuals are able to work on their weaknesses in order to be the best versions of themselves. Additionally, as a team they are able to cover each other’s weaknesses while emphasizing the strengths in order to achieve as much as possible. (Camkol, 2016)
