Personal Statement - 500-750 - Doctoral admission

Reflecting on the core leadership values of education and UD’s program goal of developing professional leaders who can both construct and apply a professional knowledge base to bring about solutions to complex problems of practice, and to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals, families, organizations, and communities, please write a 500 to 750 word essay (two to three pages double spaced, in 12 point Times New Roman font) in response to the following:  1. Why are you interested in the Ed.D. program?  2. What skills and/or experiences do you hope to develop through successful completion of this program?  3. As a practitioner-scholar, how do you aspire to utilize the theory-to-practice experience from the Ed.D. program to support your work as a leader in your organization?

A little about me.

I work in the Military defense field as a Contract Administrator. I help administer and negotiate contracts between the navy and the local shipyard. I want to advance in my career and change the dynamics in leadership as this a male dominated field. Provide diversity in the contracts/legal field in y industry. I would ultimately like to gain a VP role in Diversity and Inclusion inside my company ( HII-NNS)

My Skills are hardworking, excellent negotiator and communicator, good Attention to details and able to spot errors and inconsistencies, Good reading and language comprehension skills, able to work with a team at all levels of an organization, quick learner, multi-tasker
