Project #1: Narrative Essay Personal Narrative-“A writing genre that tells a story about a writer’s personal experience.”

Writing Prompt-For this writing project,you will compose a Narrative Essay that tells the story of a meaningful personal experience.

The choice of topic is entirely up to you. You may share anypersonal experience that is significant to you, for whatever reason. This Narrative Essay mayalsotake the form of a Literacy Narrative. A Literacy Narrativeis a type of personal narrative that focuses on personal experiences with reading, writing, or other forms of literacies.In order to write a successful narrative, you will need to construct a well-told story that utilizesvivid detailsand communicates the significance of this personal experience.Since you will be exploring a personal experience, this essay will not rely on any outside research sources. Selections from this course’stextbooksandassigned homework/coursework will facilitate and assist your writing process.

Pay special attention to W-11 “Personal Narratives” in our The Little Seagull Handbookand Ch. 10 “Writing a Literacy Narrative” (75-97) in our Norton Field Guidetextbook.

This essay must be typed in 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced with 1-inch margins, and a minimum of 3-4fullpages in length. Writing Project 1Requirements: A full initial draft must be submitted/uploaded on Canvas as a Microsoft Word document by noon on Sunday 10/10. You will then thoroughly revise and improve upon your initial draft in order to complete a polished final draft.

Your final draft (3-4 page minimum) must be submitted/uploadedon Canvasas a Microsoft Word document by noon on Sunday 10/17. Your final draft must be substantially improved from your initial draft.
