Personal Information

I consider myself a competitive person. I think that’s good. Since I was little, I always pushed myself to be the best of the class. I think education is important for young people. My educational background, involvements, achievements, and interests define who I am.

Educational background is important for personal and professional life. Also, it helps when applying to jobs. That’s why my parents made sure that I have the best education possible. So, I went to the best high school in town, Green Hills School. It is a bilingual school where English is its second language. After I graduated from high school, I enrolled in Broward College Ecuador. In that community college, I saved money on tuition, and I prepared for a four-year university. After studying a year in Broward College Ecuador, I transferred to the United States to Florida Institute of Technology. It is one of the best universities for science and engineering of Florida. Now, I am in junior year majoring in computer science. Nowadays, having a good educational background is valuable because it will put me ahead of the competition.

Involvement in high school and college allows students to discover their passion and strengths, and their achievements helps them to build their resume. In my last year of high school, I did the English language examination by Cambridge Assessment English where I obtained a B2 English certificate. It helped as English proficiency when applying to college. Later, when I was in Broward College Ecuador, I became a member in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, also known as PTK. I obtained a scholarship for PTK member when I transferred to Florida Institute of Technology. Last Friday, I became a member of Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society, UPE. It is the first and only international honor society for the Computing Sciences. Being a member of UPE allowed me to help other students at the Computer Science Help Desk. All my achievements have impact in my personal and academic life.

Since I was younger, I had always wondered how computers and machines work. It seemed like magic to me. How do Tesla’s cars drive by itself? How does Siri communicate with me? Now, I am in my third year of computer science and I still think it is magic. That’s why I am planning to specialize in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. My goal is is to work in machine learning for a big software company like Google or Amazon.

My educational background, involvements, achievements, and interests will help me to reach my goals.
